Payment & shipping
Here we have put together the most important questions and answers about the ordering process, payment and shipping. You will also find some important notes on the quality and authenticity of Manuka honey.
1. Ordering
Are the items shown in the shop actually available?
All honeys that are shown in the shop and can be bought are available. If a product is not available, this is clearly marked, and you will not be able to buy it online either.
Is there a minimum order value?
No, there is no minimum order value.
How can I find out the status of my order?
We automatically email you news about your order. You can of course also get further information from us personally, or by logging in to your account on our website. For that last option you do need to have registered as a customer.
Can I still change my order afterwards?
Once you have completed your order and sent it to us, you can no longer change it yourself. The order is deemed bindingly accepted once you have received the confirmation email from us. If you would like a change, please contact us by email or telephone. We will then see what is possible – provided your order is not already on its way to you.
2. Payment
How can I pay?
We currently offer the following payment methods:
- Prepayment (bank transfer)
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
- Apple Pay
- PayPal
For payment processing we rely on Shopify’s secure technology. Shopify is a Canadian company specialising in online shop solutions. Over half a million online shops around the world rely on this established solution.
When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged when we accept your order.
How does payment with PayPal work?
You need to already have a PayPal account. Information on PayPal and on opening a PayPal account is here: https://www.paypal.com/ch/home
In the basket you will see a “PayPal” button (below the “Check out” button). Click that button and you are taken automatically to the PayPal website. There you log in to your PayPal account and confirm the delivery address and payment method. One further click on “Order” is then enough to confirm the purchase and return to the Manuka Lädeli website.
How does payment by prepayment / bank transfer work?
If you order with prepayment, you receive an email after the order with the amount to transfer and our bank details. As soon as we have received your payment in our bank account, the Manuka honey reserved for you is sent.
The bank details for payment by prepayment / bank transfer are:
3. Shipping
Which countries does Manuka Lädeli deliver to?
We deliver only to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
How much does shipping cost?
During checkout you can choose between A Mail (Priority) and B Mail (Economy): shipping with B Mail (Economy) costs 8.50 francs, and with A Mail (Priority) 10.50 francs. Orders over CHF 190 have no shipping cost (in that case we deliver free of charge by A Mail (Priority)).
Who delivers the order?
We deliver with Swiss Post.
How long does delivery of my order take?
We usually hand the parcel to Swiss Post within one to three working days (Monday to Friday). We always send orders complete; there are no part deliveries. In a few exceptional cases delivery can take longer. If so, we will let you know in good time.
Once the parcel is with Swiss Post, it is delivered within two working days with B Mail (Economy). If you choose A Mail (Priority), the Manuka honey is delivered the next day (Monday to Friday only). Please note that these are figures from Swiss Post; we cannot take responsibility for Swiss Post’s delivery service.
4. Returns / exchange
Can I send the honey back if I am not satisfied?
No, a return or exchange is unfortunately not possible, because it is perishable goods.
On receipt, the buyer must inspect the goods delivered without delay for defects in their condition. Warranty claims by the buyer for obvious defects are excluded if those defects are not notified in writing within one week of receipt of the goods.
5. Quality / authenticity
How does Manuka Lädeli guarantee the authenticity of the honeys?
Unfortunately there are more and more counterfeit Manuka honeys on the market. The difference between counterfeits and genuine Manuka honey lies in the methylglyoxal content. Stating the methylglyoxal content is, however, no longer permitted in Switzerland. You will find more information here.
We import the Manuka honey directly (with no middleman!) from BeeNZ in New Zealand. That is a smaller, trustworthy producer, and the brand is not otherwise available in Switzerland.
How does the honey differ from other brands on sale?
Online and in shops you will find many different brands. We carry only the relatively small brand BeeNZ. Our Manuka honey is imported directly from the producer in New Zealand – with no middleman.
If you compare our BeeNZ honey with another brand, the only difference is the taste. We like the taste very much and also receive good feedback from customers – but in the end it is of course a matter of taste…
